Please propose the term you would like to define for yourextended definition.

1. What is the term you want to define?

2. How is it related to your major/career?

3. What strategies (methods) will you use in the definition(etymology, partition, negation, etc)?

Please keep in mind that you should pick a word that isnot common knowledge to people who not in yourfield. For example, if I am in IT, I would not define a program ora virus. Most people, even non-IT majors, know what those termsmean (and, yes, you could argue that they don’t *really* know whatit means–but I want you to pick a word that is totally new to mostpeople). An essential part of this assignment is taking a word thatis hard to understand and explain it an easy-to-understand way. Ifthe word is well-known, it’s hard to really test if you are doingthat effectively.
