Using Kirchhoff’s rules, find the following. (ℰ1 = 71.0 V, ℰ2 = 60.4 V, and ℰ3 = 78.6 V.) A circuit consists of two adjacent rectangular loops, one to the left of the other. Starting from the lower-left corner of each loop and going in clockwise order, points a, b, c, and f are at the corners of the loop on the left, and points f, c, d, and e are at the corners of the loop on the right. The three vertical sides, a b, f c, and e d each have a battery for which the positive terminal is above the negative terminal. Side a b has a battery of emf ℰ1, side f c has a battery of emf ℰ2, and side e d has a battery of emf ℰ3. Three of the sides, a f, f c, and c d each have a resistor. Side a f has a resistor labeled both R1 and 2.00 kΩ, side f c has a resistor below the battery labeled both R2 and 3.00 kΩ, and side c d has a resistor labeled both R3 and 4.00 kΩ.
